Significant Expansion of Online Degree Programs

Across India’s coastal region, several major educational organizations have scaled their distance-learning initiatives dramatically. Since 2019, online portals have launched multiple postgraduate and certificate programs, attracting over 10,000 learners from more than 50 nations. Among the flagship projects is a scholarship program enabling free online education for over 1,000 African students, more than 500 of whom have graduated. Undergraduate offerings have also grown, serving around 2,200 students to date. Institutions are gearing up to introduce new degree and certificate options—including business and tech disciplines—to support a projected influx of up to 50,000 new online learners within the next five years. This global outreach not only widens access but also strengthens cross-cultural learning communities, ensuring robust, quality distance education.
